Rep. Carol Miller, who has been serving in the U.S. Congress representing West Virginia’s 1st district since 2019, recently took to social media to address critical issues affecting her constituents and the broader American public. Her posts covered a range of topics including healthcare challenges in rural areas and national security concerns regarding drug trafficking.

On February 11, 2025, Rep. Miller highlighted the difficulties faced by rural West Virginians due to inadequate healthcare services. She noted that these communities are experiencing both health and financial burdens as a result of chronic diseases, emphasizing the need for increased medical resources. “Due to a lack of necessary health care services, rural West Virginians with chronic diseases are dealing with health and financial challenges.”

Later on the same day, she expressed support for President Trump’s actions against fentanyl distribution. Miller stated that China, Mexico, and Canada have permitted fentanyl’s entry into the United States for too long and announced forthcoming tariffs on their imports as part of efforts to enhance national safety. “President Trump is making America safe again by declaring war on fentanyl.”

On February 12, 2025, Rep. Miller returned to the issue of rural healthcare by discussing chronic diseases prevalent among Americans living in such areas like West Virginia. She shared insights from Dr. Jay Carlson of @FollowMercy regarding early screening’s impact on patients’ health and reasons behind rising cancer rates in these communities.“Many rural Americans, such as West Virginians, are increasingly faced with chronic diseases like kidney disease or cancer.”
