Carol Miller, currently serving as a U.S. Congresswoman representing West Virginia’s 1st district, recently communicated through a series of tweets about issues and events relevant to her constituents. Having replaced Evan Jenkins in 2019, Miller has been active in discussing matters pertinent to her region.
On May 5, 2025, Rep. Carol Miller informed small business owners across several counties affected by February’s severe flooding that they “may be eligible for the SBA’s federal disaster loans.” The announcement was directed at those in Boone, Cabell, Fayette, Kanawha, Lincoln, Logan, McDowell, Mercer, Mingo, Monroe, Raleigh, Summers, Wayne, and Wyoming counties.
The following day on May 6th, Miller shared her experience after meeting with the West Virginia Hospital Association. She remarked that she had “a wonderful discussion” with them and commended their efforts in ensuring high standards of patient care throughout southern West Virginia.
Later on May 6th as well, Rep. Miller extended greetings on National Teachers Day via Twitter. She acknowledged the hard work of educators by saying “Happy #NationalTeachersDay to our teachers working tirelessly to ensure our young mountaineers have the education and support they need to succeed wherever the future takes them.” Her message highlighted the crucial role teachers play in shaping future generations.
Carol Miller has served in Congress since 2019 after a tenure in the West Virginia House of Delegates from 2006 to 2018. Born in Columbus, Ohio in 1950 and now residing in Huntington at age 72, she graduated from Columbia College in South Carolina with a BA degree.
