Rep. Carol Miller, currently serving in the U.S. Congress representing West Virginia’s 1st district, has been actively communicating her legislative efforts and achievements via social media. She has addressed various topics ranging from energy production to healthcare access and taxation policies.
On June 3, 2025, Rep. Miller expressed her approval of the Department of Energy’s decision to include coal-mine methane as a feedstock in the 45ZCF-GREET model. She noted that this development would enable coal mines in Appalachia and nationwide to further participate in domestic fuel and energy production. “I am pleased to see @ENERGY incorporate coal-mine methane as a feedstock in the 45ZCF-GREET model.”
On June 5, 2025, she announced the reintroduction of the PEAKS Act aimed at supporting Critical Access Hospitals in West Virginia, acknowledging the unique challenges posed by the state’s mountainous terrain for accessing emergency medical care. “Here in #WV, our mountainous topography creates unique challenges when accessing emergency medical care.”
Later that day, Rep. Miller commented on tax relief for gig workers through her Saving Gig Economy Taxpayers Act being included in new legislation known as “One, Big, Beautiful Bill.” She criticized the current $600 threshold for Form 1099-K reporting imposed by Democrats and advocated for reverting to previous standards. “I am happy to see the provisions of my Saving Gig Economy Taxpayers Act included in the One, Big, Beautiful Bill.”
Carol Miller has served West Virginia’s 1st District since 2019 after replacing Evan Jenkins and previously served in the West Virginia House of Delegates from 2006 to 2018.
