Peterstown ranked 172nd in state for resident earnings in 2017

Peterstown ranked 172nd among cities in West Virginia by annual earnings per resident, according to data obtained from the U.S. Census Bureau in August.

The median income of Peterstown residents was an inflation-adjusted $22,159 per year. Peterstown had 200 households in 2017, with a population of 444.

The city with the highest median resident income in the state was Brandonville. Brandonville's median income was $65,694 per year after adjusting for inflation – $43,535 more than Peterstown. It had 61 households in 2017 and a population of 117.

West Liberty had the lowest annual resident income among cities in West Virginia, with a median income of only $5,539 per year. That was $16,620 less than the median income in Peterstown at the time. West Liberty had 276 households in 2017 and a population of 1,714.
