Golden Bears fall to Shawnee State

WVU Tech women's swimming dropped a 125-85 decision to Shawnee State University at the Greenbrier Valley Aquatic Center Saturday. 

The Golden Bears garnered 21 top three finishes including two first place showings from freshman Samantha Adele Pepevnik. The Norwegian touched at 1:01.32 in the 100 Back and 2:20.77 in the 200 Back to reach the top of the podium.

Fellow freshman Kennedy Smith also garnered first place as the Golden Bear recorded a time of 2:24.00 in the 200 Free.

The 400 Medley Relay team of freshman Ana Noguera, sophomore Daniela Bohr, Pepevnik and senior Andrea Segovia Fernandez were second at 4:28.00.

Noguera, freshman Angie Alexandra Arenas Florez, sophomore Mia Wildman and Segovia Fernandez swam to a time of 4:00.78 in the 400 Free Relay for second place.

Tech will return to action November 17-19 when they travel to Cleveland, Ohio for the Magnus Cup Invitational.
