PK-12 Academic Support Coordinator Keisha Thompson read "Balloons over Broadway" with third- and fourth-grade students at Eastbrook Elementary in Putnam County on Nov. 18. After reading the story, she completed a STEAM activity with the same students!
Discussion included the engineering design process, with students building a model of something that could potentially appear in the Macy's Thanksgiving Day Parade, similar to how the character Tony Sarg from the story prepared for a similar parade.
Designs had to have at least two moving parts.
