Southern West Virginia Community and Technical College Fall 2022 Commencement

JOIN US SATURDAY, DECEMBER 10 TO CELEBRATE OUR GRADUATES!

As we draw near the middle of the term, we also draw near to the Fall 2022 graduation date.

If you will be completing the course requirements for one of Southern’s certificate degrees (30 hours) or associate degrees (60 hours) in December 2022, and you have maintained a graduation GPA of 2.00 or higher, you may apply for graduation.  Not sure if you should apply, you can check your Degree Progress and GPA using the new mySouthern Experience.

By submitting your application, you notify the Registrar’s Office of your desire to graduate.  If you are not completing the course requirements in December, then you do not need to apply for graduation for the fall term.

Important information about Fall 2022 Graduation and Commencement:

Fall 2022 Graduation Application

  • There is no fee to apply for graduation.
  • The deadline to submit your application is Thursday, November 17th.
  • Things to remember:
    • WV Invest recipients:  Once you meet the requirements for an associate degree, you will no longer be eligible for WV Invest Scholarship
    • Board of Governors graduates:  You can receive a certificate the same term that you graduate with the Board of Governors/AAS; however, any additional associate degrees must be completed any term after you have received the Board of Governor’s degree.
We are excited to announce that we will hold a Fall Commencement Ceremony for the first time in Southern history.  The ceremony will be held in the Savas Kostas Performing Arts Center on the Logan Campus on December 10th at 10 am.  More details regarding the ceremony, the process to order your cap and gown, the fee for the cap and gown, and reserved seating will be sent to you once finalized.

*Attendance at the Commencement Ceremony is not mandatory.
