The lineman students

The lineman students pitched in and helped the Widow's Mite food bank last week. They were very shorthanded and they did it out of the kindness in their hearts.-Charles Doug Isaacs

"For many years I have traveled the back roads, the hollows, the highways of Mingo County to deliver much needed food to households large and small. For a long time, it was just my husband and I trying to do what we could to help those suffering from food insecurity. Now, we at Widow's Mite Food Pantry are blessed with a wonderful team who shares our willingness to serve. We are able to receive much needed food items each month from Facing Hunger Foodbank at the meeting point of another wonderful partner, our very own Southern, and serve over 100 families each month. This past January 17, while waiting on our delivery, we were visited by the Lineman Class on their first day. Not only did they visit us and allow us to share our heart for service with them, they volunteered to help load every agency who meets there monthly. Overwhelmed, I was, to say the least. I do not take the work of volunteers lightly. I call them all angels. These students did not leave us until the work was done and I will always be grateful to Instructor Charles Isaacs and the efforts of my angels wearing work boots that cold Winter day."
