Yesterday, Congresswoman Carol Miller (R-WV) visited Alcon Manufacturing Inc. and Hershel “Woody” Williams VA Medical Center in Cabell County to learn about ongoing projects and tour their facilities.
“I had a great time visiting Cabell County and am excited to see the impact of Alcon Manufacturing Inc. and Hershel “Woody” Williams VA Medical Center on the communities and economic success of West Virginia,” said Congresswoman Miller.
During her visit to Alcon Manufacturing Inc., Congresswoman Miller was impressed by the company's high tech innovations and their contribution to improving eye health in the community. She highlighted the fact that over 500 jobs have been provided to Cabell County as a result of Alcon Manufacturing's operations.
Congresswoman Miller also took the opportunity to tour the Hershel “Woody” Williams VA Medical Center, which honors the legacy of Woody Williams, a Medal of Honor recipient. She had a great discussion with the medical center's staff about the different medical and surgical care they provide to West Virginia Veterans.
The visit to both Alcon Manufacturing Inc. and Hershel “Woody” Williams VA Medical Center allowed Congresswoman Miller to gain firsthand knowledge of the positive impact these institutions have on the local community and the state's economy. She expressed her gratitude for their dedication to improving healthcare and providing job opportunities in West Virginia.
