Washington D.C. – Congresswoman Carol Miller (R-WV) has been actively engaging with state and local officials in West Virginia, as well as touring community project funding sites to witness firsthand the impact of the allocated funds.
During her interactions, Congresswoman Miller met with various officials, including Frank Mullens, Mayor of Charleston, to discuss upcoming projects aimed at boosting the city's economy. Expressing her enthusiasm for the initiatives, she stated, "It was a pleasure meeting with Mayor Mullens and city officials to discuss the widening of Jefferson Road and implementation of the new Park Place Shopping Center. I am excited to see how these projects will turn out and how they will help grow and strengthen the economy."
Additionally, Congresswoman Miller secured $1 million in federal funding for safety improvements at the St. Albans Boys & Girls Club. Emphasizing the importance of family, she remarked, "Family is very important to me, so it is a priority of mine that families and children in St. Albans are cared for. I am pleased to have secured this funding that will help provide improvements to the Club’s facility."
Boys & Girls Club Area Director John Jackson expressed gratitude for Congresswoman Miller's support, highlighting the positive impact it will have on the club and the community. "Thanks to the Congresswoman’s efforts, we now have this opportunity to build an incredible experience for our kids and families in St. Albans," said Director Jackson.
Moreover, Congresswoman Miller visited the Salt Rock PSD to discuss the utilization of the $750,000 federal funding she secured for the construction of pre-treatment facilities. Reflecting on her tour, she stated, "It was great touring the Salt Rock PSD today to see how the funding for the construction of pre-treatment facilities will help correct system deficiencies in West Virginia. I'm thrilled to hear after improvements, 5,000 customers will be provided with clean water."
