Washington, D.C. – Congresswoman Carol Miller (R-WV) attended an event this past weekend honoring West Virginia law enforcement officers in Logan, West Virginia. Congresswoman Miller joined families and fellow community members at the Back the Badge Police Appreciation Rally to honor the work of police officers and the late West Virginia State Police Sgt. Cory Maynard.
"Unfortunately, we live in a time when upholding law and order is frowned upon, and when law enforcement officers are no longer respected, but shunned," said Congresswoman Miller. "People call for the defunding of our police without fully considering the detrimental effect that it would have on society. I will always stand with law enforcement and will continue to back the blue. I am grateful for West Virginia police officers, for their commitment to enforcing the law, bravery, and daily sacrifice to keep our communities safe. It was my honor to join the officers and families for this important event to showcase our gratitude for law enforcement. May we always be reminded of officers like Sgt. Cory Maynard, who paid the ultimate sacrifice for the safety of others."
The rally served as a platform to highlight the importance of supporting law enforcement and recognizing their dedication to public safety. Congresswoman Miller's presence at the event underscored her unwavering support for the men and women in blue.
