Washington, D.C. – Yesterday, Congresswoman Miller (R-WV), Chairwoman of the Supply Chains Tax Team, hosted a roundtable with CNX and stakeholders in the energy industry and toured CNX's Mine Methane Capture Facility. Joining Congresswoman Miller were Representatives Mike Kelly (R-PA), Randy Feenstra (R-IA), and Morgan Griffith (R-VA).

“Our Supply Chains Tax Team is focused on ensuring energy tax credits are being utilized in the United States. Energy production has been the bedrock of Appalachia for generations, and I'm making sure it stays that way. Expanding the Carbon Capture Utilization and Storage tax credit is an important first step to secure our economic and energy success. If we can take mine methane emissions and turn them into an energy source, the United States will remain dominant on the global stage,” said Congresswoman Miller.

“Our latest Tax Teams visit highlights the need for energy policy that can once again make America a global energy leader while also demonstrating the important role America can lead in the global energy supply chain. I want to thank Rep. Miller and my colleagues for an insightful tour on Thursday," said Congressman Kelly, Chairman of the Ways and Means Subcommittee on Tax.

“I appreciate Congresswoman Miller for arranging an informative visit with American energy producers. Our Supply Chains Tax Team is working on legislative solutions that support domestic energy production and make our country energy independent again. As we work to reauthorize and improve the Tax Cuts and Jobs Act, we must ensure that we support American energy production – including homegrown Iowa biofuels – to lower costs for our families and reduce our reliance on foreign oil and gas,” said Congressman Feenstra.

“Southwest Virginia provides numerous opportunities for American coal and natural gas production. CNX is a key partner in energy innovation. I am proud to be able to show off the role Virginia’s Ninth District plays as the energy industry changes," said Congressman Griffith.

"We were pleased to be able to host the Supply Chains Tax Team in Southwest Virginia at one of the only mine methane capture projects in the entire nation. That fact speaks directly to the need to incentivize this behavior so that such investments can accelerate across Appalachia and beyond. Capturing waste methane and utilizing it for our energy needs is a win-win. We can clean up the environment and at the same time create good jobs in communities that need it the most while increasing our energy security. We're proud to be a pioneer in mine methane capture and look forward to continuing to work with Congresswoman Miller on this critical legislation," said Ravi Srivastava, President of New Technologies of CNX Resources.
