On the Expiration of Title 42 and the Impact of Fentanyl on West Virginia:

"Seeing all the immigrants trying to get over here as fast as they can, it’s mind-boggling what people in Texas and any of these cities that have received them are going to do. We’re in a crisis."

“In 2020 over a thousand West Virginians were killed just with fentanyl. It is number three out of the four drug deaths right now in West Virginia - overdose deaths, it’s mind-boggling. It has topped over 100,000 in 2021 and a lot of those were with fentanyl. They’re killing our children. And nationwide, drug overdoses surpass car accidents, guns, and terrible flus. I’m just so upset about it.”

On Raising the Debt Ceiling and Spending Cuts:

“I absolutely stand very firmly with [raising the debt ceiling]. I take it back to sending the kid to college and they spent the credit card up to the max and you still have a house payment, car payment, but you still need to buy groceries, and you hope your hot water tank doesn’t go bust. We have a problem. We have a spending problem. It’s just one more way that we are throwing our country to the wall. It’s the wrong thing to do. What we’re doing with the debt limit is perfect. We’re keeping our spending at last year’s level. We’re being very practical and providing stability and just using common sense.”

On EPA's Proposed Rule to Regulate Coal and Gas Fired Power Plants:

“It would devastate us. We already suffered through the war on coal. We’ve been blessed with all the Marcellus Shale that we’ve had and done it so cleanly. It’s just another nail in the coffin. I mean I just don’t understand where [the Biden Administration is] coming with this. I am sure that China is just laughing out loud, laughing out loud at what we’re doing.”
