WASHINGTON, D.C. – Congresswoman Carol Miller (R-WV) released a statement on the passage of the Halt All Lethal Trafficking (HALT) Fentanyl Act.

"The bipartisan HALT Fentanyl Act is a necessary step to ending the fentanyl crisis in the United States,” said Congresswoman Miller. "Due to the Biden Administration’s open border policies, every single person feels the weight of the border crisis - with the steady flow of fentanyl into our communities. This bill will be the first step in preventing cartels from profiting off of the drugs that kill our children and give the necessary resources for our law enforcement to combat the fentanyl crisis. Now, it’s time to cut of the supply of Chinese-produced fentanyl at the source and secure our southern border."
Background:
- The HALT Fentanyl Act will make the temporary class-wide scheduling order for fentanyl-related substances permanent.
- The bill will also ensure that practitioners are able to research fentanyl-related substances and its effect on people’s health.
