Washington D.C. – Today, Congresswoman Carol Miller (R-WV) toured Concord University in Athens, West Virginia to learn about the school’s new educational programs. Congresswoman Miller also met with the director of Bluefield Economic Development Authority (EDA) to discuss economic updates in Bluefield, West Virginia.
During her visit to Concord University, Congresswoman Miller engaged with faculty members to explore the new educational offerings and future prospects. Expressing her appreciation for the institution's efforts, she stated, "I enjoyed hearing about the fascinating programs and opportunities that Concord University has put together for its students. Education is invaluable and it’s important that students and faculty both feel that they have the proper resources, finances, and support to help better the education system so that every generation can feel ready for whatever opportunity may come their way," noted Congresswoman Miller.
Subsequently, Congresswoman Miller met with the Bluefield Economic Development Authority to discuss the economic landscape in Bluefield. Emphasizing the significance of the EDA's contributions, she remarked, “The Economic Development Authority plays an immensely important role in the Bluefield Community. Their investment in families and small businesses fuels economic growth. I look forward to supporting business owners in Bluefield by continuing to work alongside the EDA,” highlighting the collaborative efforts for economic progress.
